The Winterland Iceland
Iceland during wintertime can be a mysterious place. The winter is indeed dark, but nature and the lcoal people light it up remarkably. A month before christmas the local population decorate their houses and gardens with colourful christmas lights, and the main shopping streets are warmly lightened up. With the streets of downtown Reykjavik bathed in bright christmas lights makes a walk thorugh town feel very special. You can get your self a nice and warm fur coat , fur or wool gloves and scarfs to keep warm and just enjoy the cold. And later enjoy warm chocolate and cake in one of the many wonderful cafés, even in front of a romantic fireplace.
In the countryside the special light of the winter sun or the moonlight in the evenings, lights up iced lakes, frozen waterfalls and fields covered with snow. And when clouds clear you will be able to see the extraordinary beautiful Northern Lights, unforgettable for anyone that has ever seen this stream green and blue colours dancing in the dark sky.
The atmosphere is special and you will be able to discover a real winter romance!

I'm a photographer from New York City & on my trip Iceland Europe Travel agent Asta made me feel right at home in Iceland! She planned the best sites for me to see: the northern lights boat tour, horseback riding through lava fields, snow mobile riding on volcanoes, hiking on a glacier, & had a great time staying the night at a cabin at the base of a volcano & glacier. I recommend this agency to anyone who loved adventure and wants to see the real Iceland! I can't wait to come back & visit soon.
